About the Business (Established in 1951)

RL Davis Moving & Storage was originally founded in 1951 and served Rhode Island families and local businesses with pride until the founder retired in 1999. Michael Hewitt, a lifelong Rhode Islander, carried on that legacy with a strong sense of loyalty to the community for over 20 years. When he retired in 2024, he passed the baton to us — Cheryl and Bob Nystrom.

We’ve spent more than 30 years in the moving industry as the former owners of Economy Movers & Storage, Inc., and after retiring in 2022, we realized we weren’t quite ready to step away. In November 2024, we rebranded RL Davis Movers with a fresh perspective and a renewed commitment to what matters most: honest service, real care, and strong community ties.

Weve used them a few times now and have had nothing but the best customer service, careful handling and peace of mind that moving (one of the most stressful times) will be handled with care. The guys have been courteous, on time and most important to me - they’re CAREFUL with my belongings. We previously used a different company and it was a nightmare, dented fridge, broken valuables, and literally gauged brand new floors. Since switching to RL Davis I don’t worry about my (or the family/friends I’ve converted to RLDavis) moves anymore. I know my property is safe. thanks so much! Will use you again for my next move!
