Moving is never just about boxes. It’s about change, uncertainty, and often a lot of stress all at once. For individuals with disabilities, seniors, or families facing financial hardship, relocating can feel overwhelming—especially without the right support.

At RL Davis Movers, we believe that no one should feel stuck or unsafe because they lack access to reliable moving help. That’s why we proudly work with approved assistance programs and community partners to provide professional, respectful moving services for eligible Rhode Islanders.

DHS-Approved Moving Services in Rhode Island

We understand that certain circumstances can make it difficult, or impossible, to cover the cost of a move on your own. RL Davis Movers collaborates with Rhode Island Department of Human Services (DHS)–approved programs to assist qualified individuals in obtaining the necessary moving assistance during significant life transitions. Our team is experienced in working alongside case managers, housing coordinators, and social service agencies to ensure moves are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with program requirements.

If you are relocating due to:

  • Disabled child or medical needs
  • Housing insecurity or emergency placement
  • Financial hardship
  • Senior transitions or assisted living moves

You may be eligible for moving assistance through RI Department of Human Services or related programs.

Do I Qualify for DHS Moving Assistance?

Eligibility for moving assistance is determined by DHS or an authorized agency. If you believe you may qualify, we recommend reaching out to your caseworker or program coordinator to begin the approval process. Once authorization is in place, RL Davis Movers can coordinate directly with the agency to complete your move professionally and with care.

Not sure if you qualify? That’s okay.

Give us a call anyway. Even if assistance isn’t available, we’ll take the time to talk through your situation and explore possible options. You’re not alone in this.

Movers Who Lead With Compassion

We know that moves supported by DHS often happen during some of the hardest moments in a person’s life. Our role is to reduce stress—not add to it.

Personalized Moving Support

We tailor every move to the individual. Whether accommodations are needed for mobility challenges, medical equipment, or tight timelines, we work closely with all parties involved to ensure needs are respected.

Trained, Respectful Moving Crews

Our movers are trained to approach every DHS-approved move with patience, professionalism, and empathy. We treat every client with dignity, regardless of circumstance.

Program-Compliant & Transparent

We understand the documentation, coordination, and communication required for DHS-approved services. Our team follows approved procedures and maintains clear communication with agencies throughout the process.

Community-First Mindset

We believe being a good mover also means being a good neighbor. Listening, improving, and showing up when it matters most is part of who we are.

Moving shouldn’t feel like an impossible hurdle. At RL Davis Movers, we’re honored to support individuals and families during pivotal transitions by providing accessible, DHS-approved moving services rooted in care and professionalism.
